BMW E36 Convertible latch/motor panel retaining clips

(Added an updated file for a taller version to reduce the stress on the shorter version when folding the top into storage compartment. The hooked section is slightly larger in the new version so it will help it to stay in place better so might require slightly more force to push through the opening in the convertible top.)

This is a custom made retaining clip for the BMW E36 3-series Convertible Top Cover.

Models: 318i, 323i, 328i, M3 convertibles

Most all used panels will not have this part due to the plastic breaking over time in the heat causing the cover panel to hang down right in your face in the vehicle.

This was designed to be durable and flexible to be able to not break easily if you need to remove the panel.

To install: hot glue is an option, screws/bolts, rivits, plastic weld it. I added holes through them to be able to reinforce the mounting options to avoid it separating from the panel. I personally used super glue under it, in the holes and on edges for the first attempt and it seems to be doing well. Before installing must clean the area well cleaning off any old plastic or glue on base and around the edges.

Printing: MUST BE PRINTED IN TPU OR THE CLIP WILL BREAK.

Infill: 20%-100% but mainly only affects the base.

Speed: 25mm/s -200mm/s but really can vary depending on printer and slicing software. Temp: 215c-230c
