Description

🛠️ K1 Max Door Seal – Optimized for 270° Hinges

Improve your ASA & ABS prints.

This custom-designed door seal is built for the K1 Max with 270° hinges (based on Printables model 735524) and has been refined through nearly **ten iterations** to make it as easy to print and install as possible.

🔹 Why I Think You’ll Love It

- Better chamber sealing for more stable print temps

- Printed in PLA for easy filament

- Works with the 270° Hinges

💡 Tip: Before installing, run a strip of Sellotape down the inside of your K1 Max door to prevent the hinge from scratching the inner film.

🖨️ Printing Notes

This is a thin, precision part that sits between the door and the chamber wall, so a flat bed and perfect first layer are key.

- Supports required – use Normal (Auto)

- Best removal method:

1. Carefully clip away excess support

2. Use clippers or a small tool to gently pry the rest free

3. Take care not to damage the seal

- If the slot isn’t perfectly clean, a quick pass with a scraper will do the trick

🔧 Installation Tips

- Insert the top seal first – the angled fit makes this step essential

- Once in place, the seal should push snugly over the door when open, giving you a clean, professional finish

📐 Recommended Print Settings

- Layer height: 0.16 mm

- Wall generator: Classic

- Bottom surface flow ratio: 1.1

- Supports: Enabled, Normal (Auto)

⚠️ Maker’s Note

This design does use supports , so it might take a couple of tries to get the perfect fit — snug to the door and with supports that release cleanly. It was printed in this orientation, so the seal part between the door and chamber is thin.

- To save filament, I’ve included a small sample piece you can print first to test fit and support removal.

- If the seal is too tight or too loose , tweak the scale in your slicer using the zoom/scale function.

- If supports are stubborn, try reducing your flow rate slightly — it can make them much easier to remove.

Support Removal Tip

When it’s time to remove the supports, start by carefully clipping away the excess. Once you’ve got a clean edge, gently pry the support loose from one end, then pull it out in a single, steady motion. This helps prevent damage to the thin seal and leaves you with a clean slot ready for installation.

I hope you enjoy this door seal!

It’s the result of many rounds of tweaking, testing, and reprinting to get it to a stage where it’s reliably printable on mostly default settings. Something so simple, taking about 2 weeks and 20 different versions 🫠

This seal is only for the K1 Max with these hinges, if you have a K1(c) and would like this seal, please reach out, and we'll get this sized to your printer as well.
