Design Concept

The design focuses on creating a multi-functional protective lid that seamlessly seals off open socket holes. By blending the plug-and-socket mechanism into a sleek cap, it utilizes existing socket geometry to stay firmly in place while maintaining a clean, minimalist aesthetic.

Purpose

This safety lid design allows users to easily cover empty electrical outlets, providing an effective way to prevent dust buildup, keep moisture out, and protect children or pets from accidental electric shocks in the home or workspace.

Printing Recommendations

Print the model with a layer height of 0.2 mm using PETG or PLA or ABS or any material for optimal strength and flexibility. A 15% to 20% infill is recommended to ensure the prongs remain durable during repeated insertions. No supports are needed if printed with the flat base facing the heatbed.

Assembly Instructions

After printing and removing any minor stringing, simply align the prongs with any standard unused wall outlet and push the lid flat against the socket face. Ensure it fits snugly to provide complete coverage and insulation.
