Description

Introducing the latest clip, and I truly believe this is the definitive version. After numerous tests, we've reached a design that is ultra-thin, incredibly easy to use, and unmatched in terms of user-friendliness and practicality. I highly recommend trying it.

It can be left permanently on the spool, without causing any issues, even in the AMS 2 Pro. Please note, this new clip is only compatible with original Bambu spools.

There are many similar clips around, but this is the only one that, by taking advantage of the edge of the original spools, can be inserted with extreme ease, even without looking! :)

I strongly recommend printing it in a heat-resistant material, such as PETG, ABS, ASA, or PC, so it can safely remain attached, even during the filament drying cycle.

As many of you have suggested, you can also add a drop of cyanoacrylate glue, to make the clip permanent.

Boost Me Your support is important to me! Even a small contribution from you adds value to my work.

Guides and print profiles

Print profiles and steps

With logo, two colors, 0.2mm layer

Adjusted fit - nice and tight! 4x clips Adjusted the fit of the clip to better fit in spools - with the original I found they were loose and falling out.

Optimised for Bambu ABS, but should be fine in PETG also.

4x clips.

Tigher fit for most Bambu spools, with logo, two colors Adjusted fit to better match most Bambu spools.

The reason for this is I have found the Bambu spools to have a bit of variance in the holes where this clip goes. E.g. the original model falls out of some spools.

This profile uses X-Y contour compensation +0.035 mm which seems to be the sweet spot. In some cases it will fit very tight but can still be pressed in.

Note: I have test printed up to +0.04 mm which was an even more perfect fit for some spools but made them too tight for others.

In case you want to print separate versions with different X-Y contour compensation, this profile also includes embedded text with the X-Y contour compensation value.

Note: If you change the X-Y contour compensation value during slicing, make sure to also update the text to reflect your change.

ALL TEXT - ADJUSTED FIT - PETG Adjusted the fit of the ALL TEXT option from the original designer with the recommended +0.05mm contour setting (X & Y contour compensation under Quality tab)

Added PLA and TPU text options

Sliced using PETG settings

Adjusted fit - nice and tight! Full H2D bed of clips. Adjusted the fit of the clip to better fit in spools - with the original I found they were loose and falling out.

This is for a full H2D bed of clips - I use a lot of these so easier to print in bulk!

Optimised for Bambu ABS, but should be fine in PETG also.

Snaps in place securely; no logo Slightly flared tip to ensure a strong and secure snap into the holes on the spool

Test Fit - ABS Made a profile to test fit the spool clips.

I was finding the original spool clip to be loose using ABS on my printer so this profile has the original spool clip scaled up in 1% increments from left to right to find the perfect size using my printer.

Spool Clip 103% - ABS (30) I found the original spool clip to be loose when using ABS and printing with my Printer… 103% seemed to be the sweet spot so here is a plate of 30..

Check out the test fit profile above to find the best fit for your printer.
