Description

Wanted/Needed a proper fitting clamp pad for the Pony Brand of ¾" woodworking pipe clamps.  Model #50 (all generations) with body style 5003 and 6004..

I tried a few other models that were available online on maker world and none of them seem to fit correctly they were either sized for the smaller half inch version or were so skewed size wise that they just didn't work so I redid the entire profile and design and I've come up with what I think are a fairly decent set of clamp pads. In testing and designing these clamp pads I realized there are several versions of the exact same clamp based on their age……. Some of the clamps that were passed down to me from my grandfather my father and ones I have purchased over the last 15 years have completely different casting dimensions so I've done my best to make a universal type clamp pad that not only fits the old Legacy style pony pipe clamps number 50 but the new pony pipe clamp ironically model number 50 as well as the mid generation three-quarter inch pony pipe clamp model #50….

The print profile attached print five walls which makes the clamp incredibly durable and long lasting if printed in TPU 95HF which is what I have done, it also print one set of pipe clamps per build plate and it prints them in individual sequence…. One pipe clamp pad has the letter H the other has a “T” these signify which clamp pad goes where. “H” is for the Head , the part that has the hand crank to tighten, the “T” signifies the “TAIL” the quick adjustable end…. What I discovered is that over the three different generations of clamps they have changed the dimensions of the head and the tail per generation so not one clamp fits all but hopefully between the two that print on the plate you should be able to get any generation of clamps to fit and you might even need to move the head for tails and vice versa etc..around etc……

Included Print profile requires NO SUPPORTS and prints vertically

I have now printed up 15 sets and after a dozen exhaust of glue ups for some projects I'm working on here I have not had a failure the clown pads stay in place they do not leave any marks or stains on multiple species of wood that I've tried Wood glue once dried simply peels off if you're using TPU 95 etc.

Thanks and happy clamping
