Vacuum Bag Valve Spacer (Anti-Collapse)

This spacer is made to sit inside a filament vacuum bag directly under the valve area. The extra‑wide center opening ensures the valve has plenty of clearance, so airflow is not restricted and the pump/valve can work normally without rubbing or blocking.

The special outer shape helps keep the two bag layers separated locally, so the bag doesn’t “stick” to itself during vacuuming and air can still reach the valve until you achieve a strong vacuum. In practice this makes vacuuming easier, faster, and more repeatable—especially with thin bags that like to fold or collapse near the valve.

Compatibility

The design is intended to work with most common filament vacuum bags used for drying/storage (hand‑pump valve style), including the very common type with light‑blue edges and a dark‑blue valve disk (the one most widely sold online), which is the style it was tested on.

Printing recommendations

Print in PETG for better toughness and long‑term resistance compared to PLA, especially if the spacer is reused frequently or stored in warmer environments. Typical settings: 0.20 mm layer height, 3 perimeters, 20–30% infill, no supports (if your geometry has no extreme overhangs).
