CUSTOMIZE YOUR OWN CABLE GROMMET

This is a simple cable grommet. There are probably thousands of versions of this already on MW… but it was quicker for me to design it from scratch than to find one that matched my needs. Since I was at it, I made it parametric so anyone can print the version that suits them best.

The thickness of the outer ring is 3.6 mm and is not adjustable (just like the thickness of the inner wall). When creating your model, keep in mind that the total height of the object is given by INTHICK + 3.6 mm (for example, if you set INTHICK to 40 mm, the total height of the model will be 40 + 3.6 mm).

The adjustable parameters are three:

- outer diameter → OUTDIA - inner diameter → INIDIA - inner thickness → INTHICK When creating your version, remember that the outer diameter must always be larger than the inner diameter.

The version uploaded in the print profile is the one I needed, and its dimensions (mm) are:

- outer diameter: 67.2 - inner diameter: 60 - inner thickness: 3.6 To fix it to the furniture, I used Boostik Polimax, but of course you can use any adhesive you prefer—I simply used what I had at home.

It should be printed in TPU to allow the tabs to flex and bend without breaking. I also added chamfers between the tabs and the inner wall to improve strength.
