Description

Design a premium, luxury-feel desktop organizer that perfectly fits your space. This is not just another plastic storage box. This tray was engineered from the ground up to combine rigid structural filaments with flexible TPU to create a high-end, "soft-touch" object that looks and feels like a designer accessory.

Because standard multi-material printing often fails to bond PLA and TPU chemically, this model features a hidden interlocking Tongue-and-Groove mechanical lock . The TPU rim plunges directly down into the center of the rigid walls, physically locking it in place so it will never peel or snap off.

🤫 Acoustic Dampening & Soft Seating

The defining feature of this tray is the integrated TPU bumper belt and top rim. This isn't just for looks—it is a functional engineering choice designed to eliminate noise and protect your surfaces.

- Anti-Rattle: The soft TPU rim ensures that whatever you place inside or rest across the edges sits softly, eliminating that cheap "plastic clatter" when dropping in keys, metal tools, or everyday carry items. - Surface Protection: The extended TPU belt acts as a 360-degree bumper, ensuring the tray never scratches your desk, monitors, or other devices, even if bumped or pushed. 🛠️ Fully Customizable

Using the Customizer, you can change almost every aspect of this model to fit your exact needs:

- Outer Dimensions: Dial in the exact Width and Length you need (from 50mm up to 300mm). The script automatically calculates the core dimensions so your final printed part matches your target exactly. - Total Height: Make it a shallow coin tray or a deep tool cup. - Wall Thickness & Corner Radius: Thicken the walls for a heavy, rugged look, or thin them out for a sleek, modern aesthetic. - The TPU Bumper Belt: Control the exact thickness of the rubber bumper ring, and slide it up or down the tray (from 20% to 80% of the height) to dial in the perfect visual proportions. - Multi-Material Export: Use the "Part to Render" dropdown to easily isolate and export the Base, the Belt, and the Rim for flawless multi-material slicing. 🧵 Recommended Materials

To achieve the "satin-anodized" or molded-rubber look of a premium commercial product, filament choice is key:

- The Base: Matte filaments with additives. PLA/PLA-CF (Carbon Fiber), PETG/PETG-CF , or matte ASA . This hides layer lines and gives the tray serious weight and rigidity. - The Belt & Top Rim: TPU 95A (or softer). This provides the functional, soft-touch grip on the rim and the shock-absorbing bumper around the perimeter. 🖨️ Pro-Tip Print Settings (The "Secret Sauce")

If you want this to look like bead-blasted aluminum or high-end automotive trim rather than standard 3D printed plastic, use these settings in Bambu Studio:

- Wall Generator: Arachne (Crucial for smooth multi-material flowing) - Fuzzy Skin: Contour - Fuzzy Skin Point Distance: 0.1 mm - Fuzzy Skin Thickness: 0.1 mm (or 0.12mm for a slightly deeper matte texture) - Fuzzy Skin Point Sequence: Perlin (Do not use "Random"! Perlin creates a mathematically smooth, rolling gradient that diffuses light beautifully). Boost Me Boost me if you like my work so im motivated to add more such projects

Guides and print profiles

Print profiles and steps

0.2mm layer, 4 walls, 15% infill 🧵 Filament Setup:

- Extruder / Slot 1: Any standard PLA or PETG. (This forms the rigid structural core. Tip: While standard filament works perfectly, using a Matte or Carbon Fiber blend will take the premium look to the next level! ) - Extruder / Slot 2: TPU 95A (For the soft-touch rim and anti-slip bumper). (Note: If you are using an AMS, remember that TPU must be fed externally via the spool holder or a Y-splitter, as it cannot run through the AMS). ⚙️ Critical Settings Used in this Profile:

- Wall Generator: Arachne. This is crucial. Arachne ensures that the tight tolerances of the hidden tongue-and-groove joint flow perfectly together without under-extrusion. - Surface Finish: Perlin Fuzzy Skin. (0.1mm thickness / 0.1mm distance). This completely hides layer lines on the outer walls and transforms standard PLA/PETG into a beautiful "bead-blasted" texture that diffuses light perfectly. - Strength: 3 Wall loops and 15% Gyroid infill. This adds exactly the right amount of weight so the tray feels substantial on your desk. - Supports: NONE. The model is engineered to print flat on its base with zero overhang issues.
