Description

Always looking for ways to organize and reduce clutter on surfaces. Figured it might work to hang my radios from the edge of one of my shelves, so it seemed like a simple enough idea as my first real 3d model for printing. Thought I would throw them up here in case anyone else might want to try them out, try to give back a little bit to the community.

The smaller 20mm works fine, but allows the radio to roll forward slightly.

The longer 40mm one keeps the radio straight up and down by providing area to brace it better.

I'm sure there could be other uses for them, let me know what you think and if you're use it for something else. I took measurements to make sure they would work on my Baofeng UV-5r's and UV-21r's. I assume they'll work for other Baofeng hand helds and likely some from other brands.

Just a tip or two:

-Be sure to drill a pilot hole for the screws if you're putting them into the edge of thin board, they like to split along the grain. (you can see I failed to do so first couple of screws)

-And use screws that are flat under the head if you can. In my image of them mounted, you'll see drywall screws which have a slight taper underneath the heads, well that's all i had at the moment. But they could break the brackets easily if over tightend, would be much safer to use something flat underneath to press against and hold the brackets firm.

-Also, I can't reccomend these to be screwed into the edge of anything but real solid wood, not chip board or the kinds that are akin to pressed sawdust. It may work, but I dont know if I would trust it.
