Description

Adapter to connect a pool vacuum hose directly to the pump's suction inlet.

THE PROBLEM

On many above-ground pools the vacuum hose doesn't fit the pump suction port: wrong diameter, or the original adapter is broken, lost, or simply not sold as a spare part. The result is air leaks, weak suction and a cleaning job that never ends.

THE SOLUTION

This adapter takes the hose on one side and the suction port on the other. Both ends are barbed: the ridges bite into the soft hose wall and stop the adapter from pulling out under suction. Printed in TPU, it compresses slightly inside the fittings and seals without a clamp or PTFE tape. The central shoulder acts as a stop so you can't push it in too far.

DIMENSIONS

- Overall length: 81.5 mm - Large barbed end: Ø 36.6 to 41 mm over the ridges — fits standard Ø38 mm hose - Small barbed end: Ø 27.4 to 30 mm - Central shoulder: Ø 41 mm - Wall thickness: 1.5 mm - Printed weight: approx. 18 g in TPU MATERIAL — PRINT THIS IN TPU

This part is designed for flexible TPU (95A), and that's the whole point: the soft material compresses slightly inside the tapered fittings and seals by itself. No air leaks, no PTFE tape, no clamp, and it still pulls off by hand.

Do not print it in PLA: it lives in sunlight and chlorinated water, and a rigid fitting always ends up loose and whistling. PETG or ASA work as a fallback if you have no TPU, but you'll need a gasket or a wrap of PTFE tape.

RECOMMENDED PRINT SETTINGS (TPU 95A HF)

- Orientation: upright, large end on the plate (no supports needed) - Layer height: 0.2 mm — 0.4 mm nozzle - Walls: 4 perimeters (or the Arachne generator) — this makes the 1.5 mm wall fully solid and watertight - Infill: 15-20 %, irrelevant once the walls are solid - Speed: 40 mm/s with limited acceleration - Retraction: as low as possible to avoid clogs - Brim: essential here — the part only rests on a thin ring. Outer brim only, 3 mm. Peel it off carefully: that ring is the sealing surface. - Bambu TPU 95A HF is not AMS or AMS lite compatible: use the external spool holder. Dry the filament first, it is very moisture sensitive — that's the number one cause of failed prints. ASSEMBLY

- Push the large end into the vacuum hose up to the central collar. - Push the small end into the suction inlet. - The TPU flexes and seals on its own, so air leaks shouldn't happen. On a badly worn hose, a hose clamp finishes the job. - Always purge the hose (submerge it until bubbles stop) before connecting, otherwise the pump loses its prime. NOTES

- Tested on my pump with an Intex frame pool. - Diameters vary between brands — measure both of your fittings before printing. The Fusion 360 source file (.f3d) is included so you can adjust the dimensions to your own hardware. - Not designed for drinking water or pressurised use.
