Description

A simple, reusable solution for damaged mosquito screens

A small tear in a mosquito screen should not mean replacing the entire mesh.

SnapShield is a practical two-part repair patch designed to cover damaged areas quickly and neatly. Place the two components on opposite sides of the screen, align them over the tear and press them together until the integrated clips snap into place.

The damaged area is immediately covered by a new protective mesh, helping prevent mosquitoes and other insects from passing through.

It is recommended to use pliers to firmly snap the two supports into place.

Walls 3

Top/Bottom layers 4

Infill 15–20%

Supports Not required

Brim Normally not required

Orientation Print flat as provided

Printer calibration Recommended for reliable snap-fit tolerances

Material Advice

PETG is the recommended choice because it provides a useful balance of flexibility, impact resistance and durability.

PLA is suitable for indoor windows or protected locations, but it may deform if exposed to strong heat or prolonged direct sunlight.

For outdoor installations with intense sunlight, ASA is the best option if your printer can handle it safely.

Rounded Version (Medium size) Dimensions

- Front piece: 132 × 84 × 6.2 mm , including snap pins - Rear piece: 132 × 84 × 4.2 mm - Complete print layout: 132 × 178 × 6.2 mm Recommended Print Settings

- Material: PETG recommended for more flexible and durable snap joints - Alternative material: PLA or PLA+ - Nozzle: 0.4 mm - Layer height: 0.20 mm - Walls: 4 - Top/Bottom layers: 5 - Infill: 15–20% - Supports: Not required - Brim: Optional, 3–5 mm - Print orientation: Use the orientation already provided in the file - Print speed: 40–60 mm/s - First layer speed: 20 mm/s - Seam position: Rear or nearest corner For best results, print TEST_SNAP first to verify the snap-fit tolerance with your printer and filament. If the connection is too tight, slightly reduce material flow or apply a small negative XY compensation.

Medium Version (Rectangular) Dimensions : Front Piece: 144 × 92 × 2.8 mm

- Front Piece Including Clips: 144 × 92 × 6.2 mm - Rear Piece: 144 × 92 × 4.2 mm - Fully Assembled: 144 × 92 × approximately 7.3 mm Optimized print profile for producing two complete SnapShield mosquito screen repair patches .

The parts are printed flat with 0.20 mm layer height , 3 walls and 15% infill . No supports are required .

PETG is recommended for its flexibility, strength and improved outdoor durability. PLA can also be used for indoor or shaded installations.

Allow the parts to cool completely before removing them from the build plate. Remove any stringing around the connection points before assembly.

The integrated snap-fit system is designed to hold the two sides together without additional hardware. If the connection feels loose because of printer tolerances, screen thickness or material flexibility, a few small drops of suitable glue can be added between the frames for extra security.

(mini) Little version - Rectangular Dimensions:

- Front Piece: 72 × 46 × 2.2 mm - Front Piece Including Clips: 72 × 46 × 5.35 mm - Rear Piece: 72 × 46 × 3.4 mm - Fully Assembled: 72 × 46 × approximately 5.6 mm - Print Layout: 154 × 46 × 5.35 mm

Optimized profile for the compact SnapShield mosquito-screen repair patch . The model prints flat and uses a dense perforated center to restore protection while maintaining airflow and visibility.

- Material: PLA - Nozzle: 0.4 mm - Layer height: 0.20 mm - Wall loops: 2 - Infill: 15% Grid - Top layers: 5 - Bottom layers: 3 - Supports: Not required - Brim: Automatic 5 mm - Orientation: Print flat as arranged - Printer: Bambu Lab A1 or equivalent For the cleanest holes, ensure the build plate is clean and avoid excessive first-layer squish. Align both parts on opposite sides of the damaged screen and press the four connection points together. If your printer produces a slightly loose fit, a very small amount of glue can provide additional security.
