Description
For 3D printing nerds, hobbyists, and modern naval enthusiasts alike!
This is the second model in a series of cartooned versions of modern naval warships. The Zumwalt class destroyer is the US Navy's futuristic behemoth of a destroyer; and - in my opinion - one of the most unique naval vessels currently afloat.
This model is an easy print - though slightly more challenging when compared to the previous FREMM, as it incorporates an overhang (for the open aft helicopter hangar) and a few finer details - though no supports should be needed! Included is a single-piece full print; along with an option that separates the hull, 155 AGS gun turrets, and a smoke trail with an SM-6 missile. The latter option includes 3.4mm (W) x 1.9mm (D) circular slots for miniature magnets. The SM-6 is attached via printed pegs.
--- Notes ---
While the tolerances for the magnets work well on my machines with my settings - this may vary from printer to printer.
I understand that the SM-6 missile trail "comes" from the middle of the aft helicopter deck - in order to improve stability of the model.
The hull models should not need any supports. If you want to build the multi-piece version, I would recommend using brims when printing the smaller parts (SM6 missile, smoke trail, 155mm turrets, and the smoke trail peg).
If you'd like, you can also use super glue to attach the multi-piece version together.
All parts should load in their designed print orientations.

I hope you all enjoy this little model! If you like the work I've done here, consider following my Printables page or my Instagram account to see upcoming projects!
