Description
Adjustable Card Spacer
I made this adjustable spacer so you can make sure your cards sit upright at all times.
It's basically two plates that attach to a screw and threaded barrel at either end. You pop the plates into your box and expand the screw/barrel between them to lock them in place.
Quick Points
- It can adjust between the screw length (~75mm) up to double it's length (~150mm). - The plates sizes for a VaultX cardbox (84x83) as well as a smaller off-brand box (70x48) has been uploaded. - The raw Fusion360 file is also included so you can change the “height” “width” “length” user parameters to quickly create other sizes as you like. - Please upload remixes if you modify/create new sizes for others without Fusion :) How to print
- Download the plates that match the size of your card box. - Download the shaft, and screw with the length you want (i.e 75mm) - Print! I have already included a tolerance of about .75mm in the models. It prints great on a Bambu mahine in PLA without modification.
Print settings: - No supports needed. - 0.2 mm or smaller. - Enable “Precise Walls” for better results.
If you have a multi-color machine I advise using a diferent color for the last 3 turns of the screw thread. This will help you see when you are near the end of the thread. Need a diferent size?
You can request a size and I'll get it uploaded, or you can grab the Fusion file and change it yourself. The parameters you want to change are:
- “height” - plate height - “width” - plate width - “length” - screw/barrel length Screw slipping / tolerences issues?
If your tolerances are:
- loose / slipping: you can print the “NUT” file to keep it in place. - tight / hard to turn: you will have to dail in the machine, or try adding a bit of vaseline to the screw. Tbh you should probably lube the screw anyway.
