Creality K2 Plus cable chain cover with tube holder

If you're not satisfied with the add-on , you can use this approach to prevent damage to your Creality K2 Plus extruder's bowden connector, which may fail if the PTFE tube becomes loose from the cable chain and starts wobbling tearing itself out, damaging the connector teeth.

How this works is by removing the strain of the tube at the root of the connector, by keeping it straight right above it. It is meant to replace the factory original cable chain cover.

Note: If you already have a broken extruder connector, you need other solutions (like this or this ) or replacement part 4001020081 K2 Plus Extruder Front Cover . This model is to prevent the damage, use it with a new machine or after you replaced the broken part. No need to modify the printer, it's just a replacement part, with the original remaining intact.

Choose an appropriate filament material for your usage. Since it's not close to high temp sources it's not critical, but if you often print high-tech materials, it may be worth printing this one with some high-temp resistant filament. I used 40% infill. PLA did not need supports for an acceptable result, PETG looked worse even with supports. Don't think printing in another position would bring any benefit, especially because perfect hole is needed to attach the cable chain.

The backside is chamfered - which is needed to avoid collapsing into the rest of the chain over time, when the chain begins to slowly sag under its own weight. The factory cover, is not only chamfered, but it's also cut down from the height especially to avoid pontetial such issues when the head goes near the left back zone, where the head can go underneath the chain, which, if gets a little sag, may be hit.
