Menger Style Six-Pointed Star Fractal Sculpture | Level 4

This is a fractal sculpture I created by remixing a Level 4 Menger Sponge that I originally built using Blender’s Geometry Nodes.

I've included a 3MF file with all the settings in place to produce the print shown in the photos. I used tri-color silk PLA , so if you're using a different filament, make sure to update the filament settings accordingly. To give you more flexibility, I've also included the STL file . The print in the photo took a little under 20 hours .

Print Settings:

Layer Height: 0.2mm Base Layer with 0.16mm Layers Throughout

Infill: 10%, gyroid (most of this model will likely print as 100% solid, but this is my go-to setting).

Supports: None required.

Brim: Use a brim (both inner and outer brim) for optimal adhesion. Keep in mind that removing the brim can be a bit tedious due to the intricate geometry. Using a needle or small pair of snips can make this process easier.

Filament Recommendations: Coextrusion filaments (color-shifting or dual-filament) really highlight the structure's intricate details beautifully.
