Enclosure and mount for PTCYIDU PTC heater and fan

This is an enclosure and mount for a PTCYIDU PTC heater and fan. It is designed to be mounted to a two-slot aluminum extrusion rail using M4 T-nuts and screws. All parts can be rotated 180 degrees so that the heater and the cable can be placed in any direction.

This enclosure uses all the original parts, except the fan grill, which must be removed. By using the high-temp plastic mount that is already included, the plastic will be safe from very high temperatures expected to vent from this heater.

This model includes some special 0.2 mm thick sections for the upside-down screw mounts so that your slicer will print onto bridges instead of attempting to print circles in thin air. To print this model properly, please use 0.2 mm slices. It wouldn't be a bad idea to check the slices by the screw mounts before printing to ensure that it will work.

After printing, add 4 M3 heat set inserts into the base, and add 4 to the shroud. To install, mount the base to the extrusion first using M4 screws. Then, run the cable through the shroud and mount the shroud to the base using M3 screws. Then, place the heater in the enclosure and route the cables as necessary. Screw the top cover on with M3 screws.

I recommend bonding a thermocouple and thermal fuse directly to the heater core for good monitoring and safety. I personally am using a 24V DC fan with a 400W PTC 120V AC heater, and am controlling the 24V fan separately from the heater core.
