Description

@stephenmolvik (maker209) has been making some nice utility blade knives over on Makerworld. There were of course some things I didn't like about his designs, so I went ahead and made my own using his designs and the NEKKID SEAX knife as inspiration.

There are 3 different designs all using the same blade retention system and sheaths. The designs are progressively shorter and the 003 design got short enough that I figured scales wouldn't be needed or helpful.

Everything was designed in FreeCAD and I have included the FreeCAD files in this post in case anyone wants to make modifications or better sheath/stand designs or a better handle configuration or something. Just FYI, the sheath is designed to fit all handles, so the sheath models are only in the 001 FreeCAD file. 002 and 003 FreeCAD have just the lock, tang, and scales. ALSO the lock is the same part for all 3 designs, but it just made sense to me to keep everything together so the models have been duplicated.

These do require at the bare minimum 3x M3x8mm flat head screws and 1x M3x4mm socket cap or button head screw. Scales can be attached with M3x16mm flat head screws.

The holders in the photograph are printed from PPS-CF with ABS scales. For legal reasons, I do not advise using these as anything besides display pieces or with plastic blades for very light-duty use. Knives are dangerous and you can very easily cut yourself if you handle these items incorrectly. You've been warned.
