Bed Spring Loaded Internal Spool Holder for Voron Trident (HorseshoeSpoolHolder)

I like the internal spool holder idea, but the designs were a bit strange.

You need a way to release the spool when swapping, so I came up with the Idea of using magnets as a sping. That was a waste of time. The second prototype used some bed springs, i had laying around and it worked quite well.

BOM:

- 1-2 x Steel Spring 1.2 x 7.5 x 20mm (the tension was a bit high, so I only use 1)

- 5x M3x20mm SHSC

- 4x M3x16mm SHSC

- 9x M3 Brass Insert (Voron standard)

- 4x M5x20mm BHSC

- 2x M5 Nut

- 4x M5 Nut nylon lock

- 2x M5x 8-10mm (for Mounting to Alu Extrusion)

- 1x M5x 16mm (optional second mounting)

- M5x1mm Washer a few

- 5x 625ZZ Bearing (I got mine from v-slot rollers)

Instructions:

Notes:

The bearings are press fit into the rollers. This worked in my experience better than a roller made from 2 parts
