Description

A modified version of Kyles purge bucket, designed to accommodate a brass brush. It was a great mod, I just prefer a brass brush for those hard to clean filaments. I did my best to preserve the original aesthetic.

Note that the height of this brush will only fit the LDO kit or any micron that has a similar bed height (LDO kits use 15mm standoffs for the bed). Unfortunately due to the height of these brass brushes, I don't think I could adapt this mod easily for a shorter bed. There's probably a way to do it, STEP files are provided if you want to take a swing.

NOTE: Users of Beacon/carto or other PCB probes - brass brushes may short your probe. I designed this to sit no more than 2mm above the bed, so at least for recommended beacon nozzle clearances this in theory shouldn't contact the eddy module. That said, I don't imagine there's a tight tolerance on these brushes and I have a small sample size. Its probably best to seal the contacts on the bottom of the beacon if you can.

BOM and Assembly

BOM and assembly is mostly unchanged from Kyle's original design. Heatsets are not used. This is the only difference in materials. The connection between the brush holder and the base uses formed threads in the brush holder. This was due to thin walls in the brush holder. This should be pretty solid, but you are biting into plastic - don't overdo it. The brush holder will accommodate up to 12mm m3 bolts, I would use at least 10mm if 12 is not available. 8 would technically work.

See the original repo for additional guidance and images on assembly for bucket/base.

The brush should just pop into the brush holder, per the original design - the interface between the brush and holder is unchanged. You may have to do some filing to the shape/length of the brush to get a nice fit. It will be tight, but don't force it. The link in the model remixed is broken, you can find the original here which has some pictures and some additional details on the brush: https://github.com/VoronDesign/VoronUsers/tree/main/orphaned_mods/edwardyeeks/Decontaminator_Purge_Bucket_%26_Nozzle_Scrubber

The macros from Kyle's repo will work, but the brush and purge location will require some tweaking. I have not tested the poop macro extensively, but the scrub macro works well with the proper parameters set.
