Car Phone Holder Compact

I could not find a model for a compact car phone holder that was easy to take with me while traveling. It needed to to fit together so it could be easily placed in a pocket or bag.

This phone holder connects to the car air vent. It uses a rubber band for the clamp. A spring could be used. I just did not have one handy. The phone can be placed in the holder and removed with just one hand. A backing plate is used to help clamp it to the vent and support it. The hook threads into the clamp. The phone can be rotated however it does not tilt.

Dimensions when folded: 30x40x85mm

It can handle phone from 63mm wide to 110mm wide. The amount of clamp force is determined by the type of rubber band or spring. A couple small pieces of sandpaper were glued to the clamp jaw for extra grip. It will work without them.

I included two ways to store the parts and two different hooks. I prefer the wider hook. To store the holder, disassemble the parts. Remove the C shaped piece from the storage pocket on the clamp and place it around the matching bar in the plate. Thread the two jam nuts on the C clip. Place the plate in the clamp. The C clip will in the center slot preventing it from falling out. Place the hook in the storage pocket on the clamp. As an alternative, I provided a plate with thread. It works the same way.
