Adjustable quick-stock for Into the Radius 1 and 2

Summary

Background

I find it hard to aim with two handed guns in VR games and I tried a stock with magnetic cups in ITR1 and ITR2 but found the operation rather cumbersome.

It was hard to find the correct hand position etc for attaching the magnetic cups, ITR does not feature any (functional) inbuilt adjustment options for stocks and the angle is different for different guns.

Goals with this design are:

- Be easy to manage both long guns, side arm and manipulate objects.

- Match the angle of the guns and the stock by having a mechanically adjustable tilt to fit most guns in the games -> your virtual hands will line up naturally with the stock when grabbing the foregrip.

- Be as light as possible.

For ITR1 the stock is generally compatible with Chucks and Remains' + default guns.

For ITR2 the stock is generally compatible with the default guns except the Mosin.

Usage

Foregrip

The quick stock is always attached to the right controller, and to grab the forestock you simply press the left controller onto the frontstop of the stock and wrap your fingers around the frontstop. This will press the grip button on the controller.

To facilitate shifting between longer and shorter guns I suggests you have two frontstops.

Tilt adjust

To adjust, loosen the thumbscrews just enough so that you can adjust the tilt but there is enough friction to keep the mechanism from moving on it own.

Then adjust the tilt to match the gun in ITR so that the gun doesn't "jump" when you grab the forestock and tighten the thumbscrews again

Buttplate height adjustment

The buttplate can be adjusted up or down to fit different guns and tilt angle.

For ITR1 there are two versions of the controller ring available:

- ITR1_Ring_Standard_vxxx

- Correct angle/rotation for most guns in the game.

- ITR1_Ring_P_vxxx

- For for PPSH and SKS. These guns have a different rotation.

- The ITR1_StockPlate_vxxx is compatible with both versions of the ITR1 controller rings.

- When you want shift between default or PPSH/SKS simply change the ring to the correct one.
