Reinforced Servo Saver for Tamiya Blackfoot / Monster Beetle (ORV Chassis)

This is a reinforced replacement for the original Tamiya servo saver used on the classic ORV chassis.

After more than 30 years, the original plastic part on my Blackfoot finally cracked. Since replacements are becoming harder to find, I decided to recreate the part from scratch by measuring the original and modeling it in Onshape.

While keeping the original geometry and compatibility, I added small reinforcements to improve durability:

- Reinforcing bridge between the two ball stud mounts

- Additional triangular gusset underneath the main arm

- Slightly thicker

These changes increase stiffness without affecting installation or steering geometry.

Compatibility

Tested on:

- Tamiya Blackfoot (58058)

Should also fit other ORV chassis models using the same servo saver, including:

- Monster Beetle

- Mud Blaster

- Bush Devil

- Blackfoot (2016 Re-release)

- Monster Beetle (2015 Re-release)

Printing

Printed successfully with:

- PLA

- 0.20 mm layer height

- 4 walls

- 40% Gyroid infill

The part is designed so that minimal supports are required (servo mounting side up)

Hardware

Uses the original hardware:

- Original Tamiya spring

- Original ball studs

- Original mounting screw

No modifications are required.

Notes

This model has only been tested on my own vehicle. Although it feels significantly stronger than the original part, I cannot guarantee durability under all driving conditions.
