Description

Those with a Cane Creek Helm know fender choices are difficult. Tim Angus has a nice design on Printables but I couldn't find the best filament for rigidity and robustness. Long ago Cane Creek cancelled their fender option.

I have heard the MugHugger's are the best so I set out to build an adapter. The angles on the helm lower-arch are wonky so it took MANY iterations to get the angle just right. Full disclosure, with a 29x2.5" tire the clearance is still very tight but I think I got the angle optimized. Would love to hear how it works for smaller tires.

Hardware Needed:

- 1* M8x15mm standard hex head screw, no shoulder (this one is optional and tough to install)

- 4* M4x6mm Torx plastic screws

- 3* M5x8mm flat head machine screws

Print Details:

- PETG but others would work

- 40% infill seems fine

- Supports optional, only on the cut-out for the M8 screw

Version:

- Standard: Standard version should fit and follow tire nicely. However might be a tight fit for high volume tires like my 29x2.5"

- "_minus2deg": This version tilts the fender forward so the rear has more clearance than the front. The Mudhugger has a rib in the front that MUST be trimmed for this version or it WILL rub in the front. However it should provide more tire clearance in the tightest fender section, where the fender has a significant drop down to clear the upper crown.
