Description
A simple protective cap for the front driveshaft spline connection, designed for 3D printing using TPU. I printed my own version using TPU 75A.
I encountered a problem: the original plastic dust cap on the front driveshaft of my Opel Frontera A Sport no longer stayed securely in the shaft's groove over time and kept slipping off.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find a part number for this cap in the available parts catalogs, so I couldn't order a replacement. The only marking on the original part was:
"GLAENZER SPICER FRANCE BREVETE FRANCE-ETRANGER"
This identifies the manufacturer (Glaenzer Spicer France) and indicates that the part was patented in France and abroad.
The part's design is quite simple, so I decided to create my own 3D model designed for printing with flexible filament.
I hope this model proves useful to other Opel Frontera owners and anyone else facing a similar issue. It's a simple part, but sometimes even a small component like this can save a lot of trouble!
Print material: TPU 75A
Application: Front driveshaft spline protective cap (dust cover)
