Description

Hello!

2025/7/14 Update: Added latest .STEP and Fusion 360 .F3D files for anyone wanting to update/remix. For example, the mount hole hook could do with more material to make the part less likely to break. I've moved on to LowRider 4, but wanted to share files with folks happy with their LR3. Cheers!

Usage:

- Print 1 end hanger (lr3-aza-hose-hanger-end-2.5.stl) - Print as many mid hangers (lr3-aza-hose-hanger-mid-2.5.stl) as needed for your gantry. Was using Doug's 2.5" hangers, they still work great for half of the gantry where Vac Hose lifts up and folds back on itself during X axis movements. So, I only replaced the hangers supporting vac hose section that doesn't move. Reason being so I could use the ziptie channels to tidy up my wiring setup. Included .3mf files with models oriented ready for printing. Note the end hanger has an overhang that can be printed without support, providing your printer settings are tuned to do reasonable bridging.

Context: Created 2-½" for my LR build, created 2" for other folks. My Vac hose is 2.5", stock LR3 hose hangers are for 1.5" vac hose. Was using [Doug Joseph's 2.5 Hose Hangers](https://www.printables.com/model/218468-lowrider-3-cnc-hose-hanger-modified-for-25-vac-hos) for a while. However, some issues bugged me…

My 2.5" hose seems to be slightly oversized, so they don't sit well in Doug's hose hangers. I could have changed the hose for one that fits. Instead, I spent time doing this…

problem: Anyone else observing their 2.5" vac hose with attached power wiring sagging and slapping against their Y-belt, or caught on the rear left belt holder block even? Also seeing hose lifting up the case too, doesn’t help if the wiring is bundled inside the hanger with the hose.

- Am running router and controller power wires along the vac hose. Wires are velcro'd to the hose. Unfortunately the wires make the hose stick up out of the hangers even more so. Not a huge deal, except that...

- Due to issues mentioned above, underside of the controller case ends up being propped up by the hose. A raised case is loose and might even end up ruining a job if the Core crashes into the case.

- Observed hose contacting and catching on the belt and belt holder blocks. Noticed during speed "Drag Race" tests. Reason is wiring is velcro'd to the Vac hose, this ends up slack, dangling and vulnerable to catching on something…

fix: Cobbled together a hanger mod with :

- Wider girth for my oversized 2-5" hose. - Ziptie channels so wiring can be fastened outside the hanger. - Lowered hose height so hose doesn’t uplift controller case. But kept height above bottom of gantry. - Extended end brace to help vac/wiring clear the belt.

Recommend printing in PETG. Typically, PLA is brittle and less flexible.

2023/2/10 Edit: Added 2" hangers and .step files for 2-½" and 2" hangers.

2023/2/12 Edit: Recommend looking at slicer preview before printing, consider tweaking your z seam settings to minimize outer wall warts/nubs, maximize slick smooth inside surface for vac hose to rest on, details @ https://forum.v1e.com/t/lr3-mod-vac-hose-hanger-thats-lower-but-higher/36679/14?u=azab2c
