Description
After trying some of the bamboo dart molds available and finding them lacking, I decided to make my own. Yeah I know Worker makes nice metal molds but shipping and cost just didn't work for me. I tested multiple mold shapes until my finished result looks almost indistinguishable from photos of real Worker bamboos. I made 1, 9, 25, and 100 dart variants. The 100 dart variant will take a long time to slice. For best results print at 0.1 layer height and set external perimeters first.
To use:
I printed mine in ABS. You can use PLA but you will have to use lower temps and longer times. Holding the mold firmly against a flat surface I pressed the darts in nose first using a 3mm allen key. Then, I placed the filled mold on the bed of my printer set to 110C and left them for 2 hours. An hour works as well but the indentations will not be as deep in the finished product. Keep in mind my printer is enclosed which makes a difference as well.
These molds were designed around Worker Gen3+ darts. Feel free to scale in X,Y and Z as needed to suit your particular use case. Usually 1-2% should be all that is needed.
