Description
Introduction
This module is part of the Storage Tree project .
there’s no need for an MMU on this project. Only one material change. But there is a MMU3 prepared files if you have it
In case you've come across this model and are unsure of where it fits or its context, let me bring you up to speed...
What is the Storage Tree or Modular Storage Tree.
What can you store on this "Leaf":
- 6x Nextruder PRUSA Nozzle, with customizable label; - 6x Nextruder PRUSA silicone sock; - 4x Hexagonal Key holder; - 2x Torx Key holder; - 1x PRUSA Nextruder thumb Hexagonal Key with TORQUE LIMITER ; - 1x MK4 Nozzle Replacement Tool ; - 1x Wrench 13-16; - 1x Universal wrench.
Material in use
Magnets
- 4x neodymium magnets with diameter of 6x2,65mm (2 for the bottom 2 for the top) - 12x neodymium magnets with diameter of 8x2,65mm (1 for each label and 1 for each label drawer) - 3x neodymium magnets with diameter of 10x2,77mm (for the Hex and Torx keys) Filament
- For me Prusament filament is never a miss for is extremely high quality. For PLA:
- Prusament - PLA Vanilla White - Prusament PLA Galaxy Silver if you go with PETG:
- Prusament PETG Signal White - Prusament PETG Anthracite Grey Since I have a LOT of other brand filament, the example you see here was printed in a Prusa Mk4 using this material:
- Bambu Lab - PETG: Blue Gray - Bambu Lab - PETG: White Printing
The files were prepared and sliced with care, with fine configurations added to achieve a balance between print time and quality.
- The file “ Prusa_Leaf_Base.3mf ” contains a total of 4 pauses, with the first and last needing to magnetically align on top of each other. - Magnets: - Ensure that the magnets on the base attract the Storage Leaf below. - The magnets in the middle should attract the components above them. Test them before resuming the print process. Ensure that the magnets are fully seated in their pockets. If any magnets protrude above the pocket, the nozzle may come into contact with them, potentially causing damage to the nozzle and extruder.
I do not take responsibility for any damage that may occur.
There are two routes for this Leaf.
- If you have an MMU, simply use one of the files with the MMU suffix, and you're all set, despite some pauses. - If you don't have an MMU, please proceed with the following steps: - The file “ PRUSA Leaf-TopSkin.3mf ” should only be removed when the build plate is cold. It is a thin part and forcing removal could result in breakage. It is best to use the 0.1mm layer thickness on this one. If you have the time, the best result will be obtained with the 0.25mm nozzle. - This part uses snap fit pins, but nevertheless you will need some glue on critical areas. The Clip bellow will give some hints, where super glue may be needed. If you are thinking of using contact glue: - If possible, use the Smooth PEI or the Satin sheet for the part “ Nozzle_label.3mf ” - for better results. Additionally, if available, use the 0.25mm nozzle. - In this file, you can and should change the text field as needed. - The file “PRUSA_Lateral_Label.3mf” offers the same options for 0.4mm and 0.25mm nozzles. Like the last one, the best possible print is achieved for those using the 0.25mm nozzle. Assembly
The assembly is quite simple. First, you should insert the ' nozzle label' and ensure they slide easily. If everything goes well, this should be guaranteed because by this point, you should have these pieces printed, and their base will be very smooth due to the build plate used. On the other hand, the provided document ' prusa_leaf_base-3mf ' has an ironing operation precisely in the contact area."
The “ PRUSA Leaf-TopSkin ” part should be the last piece to be inserted. Ensure that all pillars are fully inserted."
