Description

Holds 7 standard 5 mm NMR tubes horizontally (tubes will stick out on the right side), and 12 capillaries (roughly 80 mm length) vertically. There is a thin wall in the bottom to prevent the capillaries from falling out. This wall can be easily drilled through if necessary, e.g. to fit different types of capillary. Hilgenberg-type capillaries will be held by their tapered tops if still attached, but note that they seem to differ quite a bit in length. About one in ten is too long or short to fit. If the capillaries keep rotating, some wax or putty can be stuffed in the top notch. There is a 1 mm hole in the top left that can be used as a reference mark.

Colored labels are totally optional. The print does require supports only on the underside, and can be done with a single-tool printer if you are prepared to drill out/clean up the horizontal holes. However, the provided custom supports, which require a multi-material printer, are recommended for good fit without post-processing. I recommend soluble support material, or printing it from PETG with PLA supports (as shown). In the latter case you can just use the provided custom supports with the following changes to print settings: - set wipe tower extruder to PETG tool - create&save a profile for support PLA with adjusted bed temp = PETG bed temp - activate interface shells (!!!) - for supports: no bottom layer, 2-3 top layers, 15% grid infill

The included .3mf file (for Prusa XL and two plates per print) has all these settings and is set up for PETG in tool 1 (frame), PETG in tool 2 (labels) and PLA in tool 5 (supports).

After the print, jam a small screwdriver between the support material and print, it should cleanly part with some leverage (see images).

I'd be happy to see any mods for this, always looking for inspiration.
