Description

Who we are

GoBabyGo Israel chapter is a 100% volunteer based non-profit dedicated to customizing electric cars for children with disabilities, our focus lies on creating versatile but simple designs to seamlessly integrate into the vehicles. These designs are meticulously tailored to accommodate the specific needs of each child but also allow us a consistent stable modification.

Our kit has been crafted over eight years, with approximately 700 units produced. It's designed to be user-friendly, stable, and reliable, making it accessible for both experienced and inexperienced volunteers alike.

Push Button Modification

The first step in our electric car customization process is converting the pedal push button into a hand or head-controlled mechanism.

The first step in our electric car customization process is converting the pedal push button into a hand- or head-controlled mechanism.

For a custom solution, we recommend using our Go Baby Go Stabilized Push Button (Work in Progress!) For an off-the-shelf option, the Logitech Adaptive Gaming Kit is ideal due to its versatility, allowing us to tailor each setup to the specific needs of the child:

Trigger Placement

Each push button connector is designed to work with M3 6mm screws. These connectors offer flexibility in placement, utilizing either the screw holes or zip tie slots, providing options for mounting configurations.

Wiring

To activate the push buttons, we recommend wiring a 3.5mm female mono plug instead of the car pedal. This connector allows for easy placement on the car dashboard without requiring disassembly. In most cars, the foot pedal is a simple microswitch that activates the car. In our builds, we replace the foot pedal with a female mono plug and a push button.

Wiring Options:

- Connect through a custom car-to-3mm jack adapter. [Coming Soon] - Solder the wires directly. Other parts:

- Lever Wire Connector, Model D2-2, 0.08-2.5mm . - Tubular Crimp Terminals Model E0508 White . Printed Parts:

- Logitech Small Button Mount - Logitech Large Button Mount - Logitech Light Touch Button Mount - 3.5mm Mono Plug Mount with 8mm Sleeve - 3.5mm Mono Plug Mount - No-Solider Wire connector Mount Seat Belts

The standard built-in seat belts that come with the cars are often insufficient. We typically use wide belts for improved support—one belt for the lower waist and an additional chest-level belt if needed. Printed parts are used to adjust belt length and customize their mounting.

For cases where low-profile mounts are required—such as when integrating adaptive bike chairs or similar seats where the child's body is close to the chair's plastic surface—we use specially designed parts to ensure a secure and compact fit.

Other parts:

- Wide 8x40cm belt with scotch latch. Printed Parts:

- Tri-glide 8 cm - Belt Screw Mount 8 cm - Low-Profile Snap-In Mount 8 cm PVC Connectors

Simple PVC hinges and Mounts serve as excellent building blocks for head supporters and lap boards.

Printed Parts:

- 20mm PVC Hinge - 20mm PVC Hinge Brace - 20mm PVC Screw Holder - single legged - 20mm PVC Screw Holder - double legged - 20mm PVC Bike Chair Head mount 17 degrees. - 20mm PVC Bike Chair Head mount 22 degress. Printing

We recommend using PTEG for stability, ease of printing and children safty. I usually print in a very rough 0.35 layer height on my old mk2.5 .
