Description

I'm rushing to upload this for the fishing contest, so a lot of it is not very polished.

This is 3 layers. When printing them, I had to "split" the whole STL (which split into more than 3 parts, but I'm not exactly sure why), then “assemble” each of the 3 layers, to keep their respective parts joined.

To hold the layers together, stack the three layers (springs in the middle, and with the top and bottom meeting up around the outside of the assembly). Make sure the notches on the bottom of all three layers are stacked, so that the notch will hold one hook then use a soldering iron to melt notches into the sandwich of layers, fusing them together. In the STLs I'm uploading here, melting further than 3 mm in will cause issues. 2 melts on each side seemed to be enough in my testing.

I used PLA.

The “width” is the width of the swim bait each holder is designed to hold. The actual holders give an extra 2mm of space per bait, so that they (hopefully) don't conflict with each other.

On the contrary, the “length” is the length of the spring, and should be longer than the hook-hook distance on the bait by a little bit. The springs can compress close to 20%, so a spring length of 110mm is suitable for baits with a hook-hook length of roughly 90mm up to roughly 105mm. The length, width, and number of holders are easily configured in the openSCAD model.
