Prusa Mini Bear - Mosquito/LGX Bondtech Housing

For those looking to add a mosquito hotend and lgx extruder to their Prusa Mini Bear I have collected the mirrored parts for you here. Also providing insight from my experience working through the upgrade.

Print Settings:

Material - PETG [improved heat resistance, Nylon would be even better]

Nozzle Size - 0.4mm

Infill - 15%

Supports - Not needed

Hardware:

M3 Fasteners -

I don't have the exact counts of the lengths used and needed but getting an M3 bolt pack will come in handy for the build. I used some I didn't have from the previous extruder assembly I tore apart. Link - Amazon

Heat Set Inserts -

The printed parts do require heat set inserts to be installed with a soldering iron to assemble. Link - Amazon

Extruder Power Cord -

Link - Bondtech

Build:

Once your printed parts are complete use soldering iron to install plastic inserts. The following parts will need inserts -

Base [7x]

Cover [2x]

X Carriage [2x]

Once complete take a look at the video below for building. Keep in mind everything is mirrored.

Assembly Video Instructions -

Once everything is assembled there are a few settings you need to change in both the slicer and the printer itself.

- Retraction speed: 35 mm/s - Retraction distance (direct drive) for rigid materials: 0.4 mm - Set extruder steps to 400 on printer - Didn't have to change extruder direction
