Description

This mechanism would upgrade your VPC CM2 TCS's by adding the antenna lever the ability to return to center using springs.

Installation Level: EXPERT! Disclaimer: If you don't feel comfortable taking your expensive CM2 apart you probably shouldn't. Installing it is at your own risk.

The springs were salvaged from a broken printer many years ago so I can't really tell you much about it's specs, however they are rather strong and I did take it's dimensions: Height: 15mm Diameter: 6mm Thickness: 0.6mm Coils: 8 revolutions Wire profile: round

- I didn't add any lubricant but sanding the balls smooth made a huge difference. I'm sure adding lubricant will make a big difference however: 1. I don't want lubricant around the inside of my throttle as with over time it would make a mess. 2. I don't have a grease suitable for PLA and I'm afraid the grease I have would damage the plastic over time.

- The lower ball is trimmed to prevent contact and friction with the solder on the PCB when it's being moved to full travel. I have sanded mine down and measured and updated the model accordingly, yet still haven't tried the updated model. Please let me know if it still make contact with the solder, or if I have shortened the model too much.

- I have tilted the spring mounts slightly towards the PCB in an effort to align their central axis with the center of the two balls. I according to measurements and calculations I made the 6º I used should so the trick. I still haven't tried the new updated model so let me know if 6º is too much/not enough/the perfect amount.

- If you find a link to buy suitable springs please share in the comments.

- Any feedback is appreciated.
