Description

Use this to add a front power switch to your Creality K1 / K1C / SE, if reaching around back to turn on and off your machine is not convenient for you, then this Mod is for you! I printed the part with the face down on the print plate.

With the way I did this mod, I kept the factory switch in its original location. You must have electrical knowledge as you will be doing custom wiring.

FIRST UNPLUG the printer from the wall! Next lay the printer on its LEFT side. Remove the 4 rubber feet. remove the two remaining screws holding the bottom panel on. Flip the bottom panel up onto the right side of the printer which is now the "Top". Find the factor switch can power connector. Unplugged the Brown wire from the factory switch. I took my new cable with Black/White/Green Wires, and crimped on a male .187 Tab on to the Black Wire, and connected it with the Brown wire. Crimp the Female .187 Tab on to the White Wire. Connect this where the Brown wire WAS connected to on the factory switch. For the Green wire, I needed to be creative, as I could not find a .187 PiggyBack Connector. So I used a .250, and modified the tab to be .187 wide. Unplug the White wire and plug it on to the Green PiggyBack connector. Plug this back to where the White Wire WAS connected to. Run the cable along the bottom of the frame, You will have to cut the length as you need it. I did not measure my cable. Cut the other Cable back at the point where the display ribbon cable exits the Printer housing. Feed the Black/White/Green wires out of the same hole where the Ribbon cable exits. I used Zip Ties and Bases as show to secure the wires.

This method KEEPS the factory switch... You need to have it on, then the front switch will be the new switch. When its powered on, the Light on the Switch will turn on if you have wired it correctly. My Switch had two Silver Tabs, and 1 Brass Tab:

Green to the Brass Tab, White to the Middle Silver Tab, Black to the last Silver Tab.
