Description
To complete the wider versions of my viaducts here you can find some special parts for turnouts/points and signals but also some parts to connect double track sections with single track. The advantage of having a viaduct that works also for such beautiful KATO-train sets, like the ICE4 or the Pacific Surfliner, comes with a flipside. The viaducts for single tracks can not fit side by side within the standard track distance of 33m. So in difference to the Kato’s original design, you can’t simply connect single track viaducts to double track viaducts. To overcome this drawback to some extent, I created to connection pieces (each in left/right-version). Especially the connection using S186 together with R718-15 should give you the possibility to get two single tracks running side by side at a certain distance, if you use R718-15 and S186-single viaducts next to it.
For good order here are the links to the single and double track viaducts (wider version): https://www.printables.com/model/1608370-diy-viaduct-for-kato-unitrack-wider-version-n-scal https://www.printables.com/model/1681921-diy-double-track-viaduct-for-kato-unitrack-wider-v More stuff for Kato’ Unitrack can be found in my collection: https://www.printables.com/@Slanjonok/collections/2144823
All prints just on plate without supports and 0.4mm nozzle, but with very fine layer height of 0.08mm to build up the overhangs. Larger items are available with built-in rafts to ensure print quality at the outer corners (I use the Bambu X1C, and the heat from the build plate isn't sufficient at the edges, so a raft is necessary to prevent warping). Rafts are easily removed after printing with a sharp knife.
Please note: KATO’s Unitrack is the first and only choice in n-scale for mobile layouts and one of the best track systems in general: https://unitrack.katomodels.com/what_is_uni_track But “Kato” and “Unitrack” are trademarks of K.K.
