1:10 Scale 3D Models: RC Car Bodies and Chassis

This collection gathers 3D models built around the 1:10 scale: car body shells, chassis and drivetrain projects, truck and crawler bodies, and small workshop accessories. It helps when parts from different authors have to line up on one build. Because scale is the common thread, a body shell and a chassis project can be compared side by side before you start a 3D printing session.

«1:10 Scale 3D Models: RC Car Bodies and Chassis»

The models fall into a few groups. Body shells reproduce the outer shape of a car or truck and are usually printed as thin panels or a single shell. Chassis and drivetrain projects go further and include frame parts, suspension mounts and gearbox housings. Accessories such as stands, small lifting equipment and jointed figures share the same scale but serve a different purpose, often as props or display pieces.

When choosing a model, look first at the dimensions the author lists: overall length, width and wheelbase decide whether parts from two different projects will meet. Then check the number of parts and how they are joined, whether the author mentions supports, and which material and settings are recommended for each section. Photos of real prints show how the surfaces, panel gaps and thin walls come out in practice. For moving parts, tolerances matter more than appearance, so read the notes on clearances and fasteners.

Search results widen if you try other wordings for the same idea: tenth scale, one to ten, RC body, crawler shell, truggy, frame, wheel rim, display model. Related topics are also worth a look, such as scale electronics, axles and suspension sets, tyres, and interior or driver figures. Combining a body search with a chassis search usually brings up builds where the two are meant to work together.

FAQ

Questions fréquentes

What does 1:10 mean for a printed model?
It is a ratio: the model is roughly one tenth the size of the real object in each dimension. Authors usually state the resulting length or wheelbase on the model page, and those figures are what you compare between projects.
Will a body shell fit any chassis?
Not automatically. Body posts, hole spacing and the width of the shell differ between projects, so check the mounting points and the wheelbase the author gives before combining parts from two sources.
Which material should be used for scale parts?
It depends on the section. Rigid frame and panel parts are commonly printed in stiffer filaments, while hinges, joints and tyres are often made in flexible ones. The author's notes on the model page are the reference to follow.
Do these models need supports?
Some do, especially shells with overhangs, thin pillars or hollow interiors. The model page usually shows the orientation the author used and whether supports were part of the print.
