Cuirass STL Models for 3D Printing

This collection gathers cuirass and breastplate models for 3D printing, from historical plate armor to cosplay chest pieces and small-scale figures. Most files are split into a front plate, a back plate and separate fittings, so the amount of assembly varies a lot. It is a useful starting point if you already know which period, scale or costume you are aiming for. Polyzon does not confirm whether models are free, their price, license, official status, affiliation, safety or fitness. Check the current terms at the source.

À propos de la catégorie

«Cuirass STL Models for 3D Printing»

The models fall into a few groups. Historical pieces follow late medieval and sixteenth-century plate shapes, often with a matching backplate, while fantasy and cosplay versions are built around a character silhouette and are usually scaled to a wearer. Smaller entries cover tabletop figures and busts, where the cuirass is one detail on a much smaller body. Separate parts such as placards, pauldrons and bonus fittings appear as add-ons to a main chest piece.

Before printing, read the author's page for overall dimensions and scale, since the same armor shape can be offered as a wearable shell or as a miniature. Check how many parts the file contains, whether they are hollowed or solid, and whether the author lists supports, layer height, material and wall thickness. Photos of finished prints show how the surface reads after sanding and priming, which matters more on large curved plates than on small figures.

Search terms can be widened or narrowed depending on what you need. Try breastplate, chest plate, backplate, plate armor, pauldron or gorget for the same family of shapes, and add a period or style word such as gothic, maximilian or landsknecht to move toward a specific look. For costume work, terms like cosplay armor, chest piece or wearable armor bring up scaled versions, while miniature, 28mm or bust lead to display-sized items.

FAQ

Questions fréquentes

How is a cuirass different from a breastplate?
A cuirass usually means the combined front and back plates, while a breastplate is only the front section. Many files include both, but some offer the chest piece alone.
Can these models be scaled for a costume?
Scaling is possible, but the wall thickness and part splits change with size. Check the author's stated dimensions and adjust the model before slicing rather than only in the slicer.
What should I check about supports?
Look at whether the author marks the file as needing supports and where they are placed. Large curved plates and overhanging edges usually need them, small flat parts often do not.
Which material works for armor-shaped prints?
The author's notes usually name a material and settings. Rigid filaments hold a plate shape, while flexible ones suit parts that must bend around a body.
