Weather Station and Sensor Shield 3D Models

This collection gathers 3D models related to weather measurement: radiation shields, anemometers, rain gauges, probe holders and full station housings. It is useful if you build or repair your own instruments and want parts that a 3D printer can produce. The STL files vary widely in size and complexity, from small sensor caps to multi-part station bodies. Polyzon does not confirm whether models are free, their price, license, official status, affiliation, safety or fitness. Check the current terms at the source.

«Weather Station and Sensor Shield 3D Models»

The models fall into a few groups. Radiation shields and sensor housings protect temperature and humidity sensors from direct sun and rain, and they often consist of stacked plates or louvered rings. Anemometers cover mechanical wind indicators with rotating cups or blades as well as dual-shaft designs that report speed and direction. Alongside these you will find rain gauge bodies, probe holders for outdoor sensors, and complete station enclosures that combine several of these parts.

When choosing a model, read the author's page rather than the thumbnail. Check the stated dimensions and scale, how many parts need to be printed and how they join, and whether the geometry needs supports. Look at the material and settings the author lists, since outdoor parts are usually printed in UV- and moisture-resistant filaments, and examine photos of real prints to judge surface quality and fit. For moving parts such as anemometer rotors, note the axle, bearing or bushing the design expects.

If the results are too narrow, try related terms. Searches for radiation shield, Stevenson screen, sensor housing or solar shield return similar enclosures, while wind vane, cup anemometer, pitot tube and weather mast cover other instruments. Rain gauge, pluviometer and tipping bucket describe the same measurement, and terms like ESP32 weather station or sensor node point to electronics-oriented builds. Combining a measurement word with a mounting word, such as probe holder or mast bracket, often surfaces parts that a single keyword misses.

FAQ

Questions fréquentes

What is a radiation shield used for in a weather station?
It houses a temperature or humidity sensor and blocks direct sunlight and rain while letting air pass through, so the sensor reads closer to the actual air conditions. Most designs use stacked plates or louvered rings.
Do anemometer models include the moving parts?
Some designs include rotors, cups or vanes as separate printable parts, and others expect a bearing, axle or magnet you supply. The author's page usually states which hardware is needed.
Which filament works for outdoor weather parts?
Authors often list ASA, PETG or another weather-resistant filament for parts that stay outside. Check the recommended material on the model page and consider how much sun and moisture the part will see.
Can I scale a weather station model to fit my own sensors?
Scaling changes wall thickness and the fit of joints, so it works only within limits. If the sensor diameter differs, look for a parametric version or a model designed around that sensor size.
