3D models for keyboard frames and cases

This collection gathers 3D models built around keyboards: cases and frames for specific layouts, housings for macro pads, switch trays and keycap sets. It is useful when a stock case no longer fits your build or when you want a different angle, height or mounting style. Most files are made for FDM 3D printing, though some small parts are also cut or printed in resin. Polyzon does not confirm whether models are free, their price, license, official status, affiliation, safety or fitness. Check the current terms at the source.

«3D models for keyboard frames and cases»

The models differ mainly in what they hold. Full cases and plates are shaped around a particular layout or PCB, so the cutouts and screw positions follow that board. Macro pad and stream deck housings are smaller and often combine a frame with a separate keycap set. Switch trays and testers are simpler parts, usually a grid of square openings. Decorative keycap collections sit apart from all of these: they are individual caps rather than structural frames.

Before printing, compare the dimensions on the author's page with your own hardware: plate size, PCB outline, screw hole spacing, USB opening and the height of the case walls. Look at how many parts the model has and whether they are meant to be glued, screwed or snapped together. Check whether the author lists supports, material and print settings, and read the photos of real prints to see how the tolerances came out. Small differences in scale matter more here than in most decorative prints.

If the exact model is missing, search by synonyms and related terms: keyboard case, plate, bezel, tray, housing, bracket, macro pad, numpad, switch tester, keycap. Adding the layout or the board family narrows the results, while broader words such as mechanical keyboard or desk accessory widen them. Related directions include desk organizers, small single-board computer cases and shelf risers that use the same mounting ideas.

FAQ

Questions fréquentes

What should I measure before printing a keyboard frame?
Measure the plate or PCB outline, the distance between screw holes, the USB or cable opening and the total height you want. Compare these with the dimensions listed on the model page, since a frame made for one layout rarely matches another without edits.
Do keyboard frames need supports?
It depends on the shape. Flat plates and trays often print without them, while tall cases with overhangs may need supports at the cable opening or inside walls. The author's page usually states what the model was printed with.
Can I scale a frame to fit a different keyboard?
Scaling changes cutouts, screw spacing and switch openings at the same time, so it rarely works cleanly. It is usually easier to look for a model drawn for your layout or to adjust the file in CAD.
Which material is used for keyboard cases?
PLA, PETG and ABS or ASA all appear in published builds, each with different stiffness and finish. The material and settings the author lists are the closest reference for your own print.
