3D Models for Pictures: Frames, Stands, Lithophanes

This collection gathers 3D models built around pictures: lithophane boxes and lamps, frames and stands for flat printed panels, and seasonal window decorations. It is useful when you want a photo or a printed image to become a physical object rather than a file on a screen. Most items are made for a standard 3D printer and a single filament colour. Polyzon does not confirm whether models are free, their price, license, official status, affiliation, safety or fitness. Check the current terms at the source.

«3D Models for Pictures: Frames, Stands, Lithophanes»

The models differ mainly in how the picture is held and lit. Lithophane boxes and lanterns take several thin printed panels and rely on backlight to show the image, while frames and stands simply clamp or slot a flat panel upright. Window pictures are cut as flat silhouettes and hung against glass, so they read from both sides.

When choosing a model, look at the picture size it accepts, the number of parts and how they join, and whether the author lists supports or a particular orientation. Thin lithophane panels need a consistent layer height and a light source behind them; frames and stands care more about wall thickness and a stable base. Photos of real prints on the model page show how the edges and corners come out.

To widen the search, try synonyms such as photo frame, picture holder, lithophane panel, light box or display stand, and add the size or format you work with. Related topics like seasonal decorations, lanterns and desk organisers often lead to the same kind of model. Combining a material or a mounting idea with the word picture usually narrows the results faster than the topic alone.

FAQ

よくある質問

What is a lithophane picture?
It is a thin printed panel whose thickness varies, so a backlight turns the thickness differences into shades of grey and forms an image. The effect depends on even extrusion and a steady light source behind the panel.
Which file format do these picture models use?
Most are distributed as STL or similar mesh files that you slice yourself. Check the model page for the format and for any notes on scale before you prepare the print.
How do I make a picture fit a frame or box?
Compare the inner opening of the frame or box with the size of your image and scale the model accordingly. Many authors state the accepted picture size in the description or in the file name.
Can these models be printed without a backlight?
Frames, stands and window decorations work on their own, since they only hold or outline the picture. Lithophane designs are usually meant to be lit, otherwise the image stays hard to read.
