Design Concept

This 3D-printed device case, designed to attach to a bicycle frame, features an integrated light for additional visibility. The sleek design with the engraved logo highlights a functional and aesthetic balance, perfect for cyclists.

Purpose

It serves as secure storage for electronic components or other essentials while incorporating a safety light for nighttime cycling.

Printing Tips

Use durable and weather-resistant materials like PETG or ABS to ensure the case withstands outdoor conditions. Ensure layer resolutions are set to a level that balances printing speed with the detail needed for the engraved areas. I designed the case to be printable with minimal support using the K2 Plus printer settings - 0.2mm high quality, 0.4 nozzle, 4 walls, sparse infill 30, threshold angle 45. You can modify the settings according to your preferences; I have attached the STL files as well as the STEP.

Assembly Instructions

The case is designed to clip onto the bike frame quickly using 2 plastic tie fasteners. In the project, you also have two knob options for attaching the lid of the box for M4 or M5 screws (the screw should be 25 mm long and fully threaded). If you use the knob from the file, it intentionally has a smaller diameter so that it cuts a thread in the hole and stays fixed in the knob to prevent it from coming out. Be careful when choosing the files for printing to match the M4 and M5 nuts and screws. I preferred to fix the cap with an LED lamp that has a 5 mm screw, so I used the M5 cap, which has a slot made for an M5 nut. Ensure that the light is functioning correctly before fully tightening the screws for secure attachment. For fixing the box lid, you have two print options: one for an M4 screw and one for an M5 screw. The screw length must be 25 mm, fully threaded.
