Pool Vacuum, Swimming Pool Cleaner, Paddling Pool #Summer

Since the beginning of summer, I've wanted a pool vacuum to clean up the debris (sand, grass, and leaves) my children drop in the paddling pool. I could have just bought one, but where's the fun in that? This design is technically an annular jet pump, though I've changed the concept to give it a clear bore. It uses the venturi effect to create suction using water from a garden hose. I've been using an old sock as a bag filter, which works well. I've added a lip so you can secure it with an elastic band.

This is actually my second iteration; it works much better than the first. The most significant improvement is removing all obstructions from the hole in the middle so things won't get tangled in it.

The hose attachment is standard 3/4 BSPP. If you don't have one, you'll need a female hose connector. There are designs available to print, but they're cheap to buy.

There's also a connection for a decorator's pole. The internet says ACME 3/4-5 is standard, so I've tried to accommodate that, while also making it fit the decorator's pole I have, which is T18x5. I don't have an ACME 3/4-5 to test, though.

I haven't yet designed any fittings for this. I'll probably add at least one, but you don't need one for small patches.

The design is mostly wall, so infill isn't very important; 20% should be fine. I've printed mine with 3 walls; 2 is probably OK.

I recommend PETG for this print.

You should enable support and brim. I designed it so the underside of the bowl needs support to ensure the print is stable.
