CFS universal spool adapter with REUSABLE universal NFC

Design Concept

The CFS Universal Spool Adapter with Universal NFC is crafted for adaptability, catering to different filament spool sizes and configurations while ensuring enhanced NFC compatibility for tracking and management purposes.

This design was made as my cardboard spools kept coming bent and then either lost fragments, completely didn't work or just got damaged in the CFS. I wanted to either protect the spools/my CFS but not have another set of spool adapters, so this design was born. This is the 4th version of this I have made due to learnings, requests and improved CAD skills.

NFC programmable tags can be used on the adapters. If you are like me you can add text to the tag (10mm height, cut, and 0.4mm depth) to save reprogramming in the future. I will be printing mine in the material used so color matches the programming and the words PLA or PETG etc are on the tag. Featured in the photo/helps my OCD tendencies.

This version is made from less plastic, is stronger, NFC for plastic spools is much smaller and more sensible and the case for the NFC tags works better. Much Much improved lining up of the spool in the adapter compared to V3

Purpose

The adapter is designed to offer a universal solution for filament spools, enhancing workflow efficiency in 3D printing setups. It aims to standardize the spool handling process and integrate NFC functionality for smart management.

Printing Recommendations

- Recommended Material: durable and stable filaments such as PETG or ABS to ensure longevity.

- Print at a 0.2mm or less layer height for precision in the adapter's fit.

- Enable supports for intricate parts to ensure accuracy and ease of assembly. - NFC needs to be paused after the first layer of the gap (approx layer 6-9 depending on settings) so a tag can be added and the print speed needs to be slow afterwards -
