By utilizing a modular interlocking rim and integrated, high-precision printed bearings, this wheel brings professional-grade pet equipment to the home. The design emphasizes a "form-follows-function" philosophy, where the stylish geometric patterns provide the necessary rigidity to handle the centrifugal forces of a sprinting cat while maintaining a surprisingly lightweight profile.

To successfully execute a project of this scale, your machine must be dialed in for precision and structural integrity. While the design is optimized to be support-free on well-calibrated machines, the sheer size of the segments means you must be vigilant about bed adhesion. If your machine is prone to lifting, the use of brims is highly recommended to ensure the arc segments remain perfectly flat during the printing.

For a build that can withstand constant use, material choice is non-negotiable. PETG or ABS are the primary candidates for the structural rim due to their superior impact resistance and thermal stability. For the wheels, TPU can be integrated to provide necessary grip and noise reduction.

To ensure the wheel doesn't delaminate under the weight of an active pet, use high wall counts (3+) to create a thick structural "skin." For internal support, a 15%PLUS Cubic Infill is recommended; its three-dimensional nature provides excellent strength-to-weight ratios and prevents the segments from twisting under load.

Assembly is a multi-stage process where precision is paramount. Once the segments are printed, they must be aligned on a flat surface to verify a perfect circular geometry before any permanent bonding occurs. Because this wheel operates as a high-speed mechanical assembly, you cannot rely on friction fits or temporary clips.
