About the F-101 Voodoo

First flown in 1954, the McDonnell F-101 Voodoo was originally developed as a long-range fighter before evolving into several roles, including fighter-interceptor and reconnaissance.

The RF-101 reconnaissance variants became particularly significant, flying missions during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam War. Capable of more than Mach 1.7, the Voodoo combined impressive speed and range with one of the more distinctive profiles of the early supersonic era.
