X1/P1 Carbon Filter Cover - No Supports + Optionally Perforated

I created this model as i needed to print a new carbon filter cover for my P1S and was frustrated with the printability of the current offering with how they are exact copies of the original which was designed to be molded not FDM printed.

This model allows you to print the filter cover in 2 pieces which are joined by just 1 of the spare M3 screws that come with your printer.

Models:

- Filter Cover Plate: - Blank - Perforated - Hex Pattern (Niche scenario, see below) - Lift Tab: - Hex Design - Circle Design (original) - Rectangle Needed Hardware:

- Qty 1 - M3 x 4mm screw or - Qty 1 - Spare X1/P1 short M3 screw (both coarse or fine threaded works) So why is this better?

- Nearly 0 supports , the only support needed is just for the small cut out on the top where the attached lift tab slots in. - Why even have any overhangs? - I added 1 spot for a small cut out for the attached lift tab as it allows keeping the tab from spinning since only one screw is holding it to the main cover plate. - The small tabs that hold the plate into its slot have been updated with 45° angle overhangs so no need for supports. Test fits held the plate the same as the OEM version. - All the other designs require an insane amount of supports that leave the back surface ugly and also drastically increase the chance of a failed print as only the tiny little bottoms of the securing tabs are what is on the build plate. - The build plate design gets transferred to the surface of the front of the cover plate, allowing you to customize that surface with different build plate textures. - This also holds true for the little tab - Print the tab in a different color then the main cover plate - Design your own tabs - Cut out on the cover plate for the tab to attach to is 6mm x 4mm x 0.95mm - i put a small 0.15mm fillet on the corners to ensure they don't bulge and not fit into the cutout on the plate Additionally, I have created a perforated version .

Why? you may ask.

- Background: - Well, i removed the carbon filter (as it is redundant in my setup and is an air restriction) that is provided and leave this space empty as i have a 4in duct attached to the back of the printer that sucks air through a cheap inline 4in fan that then outlets to a large carbon filter. This setup allows me to shut off the super loud chamber fan along with keeping temps in the chamber around 30°C (with the top glass on and a vented riser) and ensuring pretty much all air in the chamber outlets through a carbon filter. - What does that have to do with the carbon filter cover? - The fan i use pulls too many CFMs for the small perforated holes that are in the plastic above the carbon filter to provide enough air and thus i get a whistling noise from air trying to be sucked from around small gaps in the carbon air filter door. This is solved by just removing the air filter door but that leaves room for small plastics pieces to fall into and also just looks bad. So likely most people shouldn't/won't use the perforated version, but its available for those with this niche scenario.
