Did the front latch on your sandwich maker snap off? Don't throw away a perfectly functional appliance over a 20-cent broken plastic clip!
I designed this heavy-duty, direct-replacement locking latch specifically for the SilverCrest SSMW 750 (3-in-1 Sandwich / Waffle / Grill Maker) . Engineered for a precise OEM snap-fit and reinforced geometry to withstand repeated mechanical stress and high baking temperatures.
Key Features
- Direct OEM Fit: Modeled to exact factory dimensions. It reuses the original internal return spring and pivot pin mechanism seamlessly.

- Reinforced Durability: Critical stress zones around the hinge pins and catch lip have been thickened to prevent the brittle failure typical of the stock injection-molded latch. - High Heat Resistance (ASA Recommended): Designed for ambient thermal exposure near grill plates. Printing in ASA or ABS ensures it will not deform or soften during baking. - Cost-Effective & Eco-Friendly: Save your kitchen grill from landfill with a quick, under-30-minute functional print. Recommended Print Settings
Material Notice: Standard PLA is not recommended due to its low glass transition temperature (~55–60°C). Heating during grilling will cause PLA to creep and loosen over time.
Installation Guide
- Safety First: Unplug the appliance and ensure it has completely cooled down. - Remove the broken original latch fragments from the handle cavity. - Keep the original return spring .

- Seat the spring onto the retaining peg of the printed latch.

- Align the pivot pins into the handle slots, compress the spring slightly, and snap the lock into place. Verify smooth spring-return action before closing. Compatibility

0.18mm layer, 2 walls, 15% infill - Low print speed and enclosure needed - Nice surface finish - Easy to remove the supports when the print is cooled down - easy to replace the old broken one and it's ready to go
Better Strength (update) The previous version had some strength issues at the pins. I figured out, that's because of the layer lines adhesion, so I printed the same design tilted by 45 degree and voila. We got a better part, more durable and not too much effort needed. I still recommend to print it from Asa for the heat resistance and it needs to be printed in enclosure. That's why I would not recommend to print this part on an A1 P1P or A1 mini printers. Enjoy! PETG version specially for A1 and A1 mini users I still recommend using ASA for this part, but I do want to get this available for A1 and A1 mini users.
It's a simple PETG print, with the same settings as the ASA one, except material specific ones.
