A scientifically accurate desktop fossil of the famous Mongolian swift seizer.

This Velociraptor Skull replica brings the agile and intelligent predator of the Cretaceous period to your collection. Modeled after the renowned MPC-D 100/25 specimen (formerly IGM 100/25), this model showcases the true anatomy of Velociraptor mongoliensis . Distinctly different from its Hollywood counterpart, this skull features the characteristic long, upturned snout and widely spaced teeth that made it such an effective hunter of small prey in the ancient Gobi Desert.

Design Features

This model is defined by its Paleontological Fidelity , capturing the slender profile and delicate bone structure of the dromaeosaurid family. The Sharp, Recurved Teeth are modeled to reflect the grasping nature of the predator's bite. Due to the fine geometry of the zygomatic arches and the numerous individual teeth, Strategic Supports are required to preserve the details and ensure the skull prints successfully without sagging.

Material & Craftsmanship

The focus of this design is creating a realistic, museum-grade display piece. Printed here on the Bambu A1 using white PLA+/Pro filament, the matte finish creates a convincing bone-like texture. The natural layering of the 3D print adds a weathered feel, mimicking the sedimentary abrasion found on fossils recovered from the Djadochta Formation.

Printing Protocol: Recommended Settings

For the sharpest teeth and best preservation of the delicate snout, this model is best printed vertically (snout pointing up) or at a 45-degree angle.

Printer FDM (Bambu A1 Recommended) Excellent detail resolution for organic shapes.

Material PLA+ / PLA Pro (White or Bone) Best for mimicking the look of natural fossilized bone.

Layer Height 0.12mm - 0.16mm Lower layer height is recommended to resolve the sharp tips of the teeth.

Infill 15% Sufficient internal structure for a stable display model.

Supports Required (Tree Supports Highly Recommended) Critical for the teeth, eye sockets, and the long, thin jawbones.

Orientation Vertical / Angled Printing vertically helps minimize support scarring on the visible side of the skull.
