New: Big Roll Hexfinity Expansion Collection - All 3 original Roll Hexfinity expansions rolled up into one Big Big release! Cheers!

New: Don't have 16mm Marbles? No problem! Try my new 16mm printable, striped, high-quality marbles .

Big Roll Hexfinity Starter Pack

Want to build Roll Hexfinity with standard 16mm marbles? Now you can.

It’s been 11 months since the original Roll Hexfinity release, designed for 8mm steel bearings. Since then, I’ve built a whole ecosystem of bricks, tunnels, splits, merges, spirals, bridges, and more. But now it’s time to go big .

This is the Big Roll Hexfinity Starter Pack , with all the original core components scaled up for 16mm marbles. That means double the width, double the height, double the length — and still effortlessly stackable.

The result? Big, chunky bricks that are incredibly satisfying to build with. Perfect for all ages. If a kid is old enough to play with marbles, they’re old enough to enjoy this. No fiddly connections or tricky alignment—just stack and roll.

Despite the 8× volume increase, the pieces only use about 4× the filament, thanks to the natural efficiency of 3D printing. And the quality? Excellent. These large pieces print cleanly and look fantastic.

Whether you’re revisiting the joy of classic marble runs or introducing them to a new generation, Big Roll Hexfinity delivers a magical, hands-on experience.

Why Did Roll Hexfinity Go Big?

I made this kit on the suggestion of a commenter. They wanted a version for 16mm marbles. I suggested, that since 16mm is just double 8mm, they could try 2Xing some of the existing hexfinity pieces. Then I thought, “I should try that!” So I printed out a 1x plate Big. It looked good! So I printed a 2x plate Big to test how they fit together - also good! Then it was time to print out the iconic, 3-path Roll Hexfinity piece. I was a little nervous. It has some big bridges. I originally spent a lot of time tuning the bridging for this piece. Would it scale?

The results amazed me. Not only did it print flawlessly, I LOVED it! I loved it more than I expected. It's really satisfying to hold in hand. The interlock and stacking is extremely satisfying at this size. The tolerance were perfect. It's so easy to assemble and play with. So, I started printing the rest - and I ordered some 16mm marbles!

And the rest is history! I've also started experimenting with some of the other Roll Hexfinity pieces and the preliminary experiments are good. Let me know if you want me to make more Big sets.

What’s Included

This starter pack mirrors the original Roll Hexfinity Starter Pack —scaled up and tested for 16mm marbles.

3-Path Brick (42mm stacking height)

These are the core. Each brick includes three paths: one straight, one curved left, and one curved right. With just a few bricks you can build impressive runs—but the more you print, the more possibilities emerge.

Source Brick (42mm stacking height)

Start your runs with style. This brick is designed to launch your marbles cleanly into the system.

Sink Brick (28mm stacking height)

Let your marbles roll to a clean stop with a satisfying drop-in finish.

3 Plates (14mm stacking height)

- 3-hex plate - 2-hex plate - 1-hex plate Base (0mm stacking height)

- 3-hex base Just like the original, you can build vertically from these plates or tile them out horizontally to build large bases. Want more height? Just stack more.

Big Hexfinity System Specs

Just the same as the Original Roll Hexfinity - Only 2x Bigger!

- 84mm hexagons (flat-edge to flat-edge) - 14mm height increments - “Big Height Units” (BHUs) - Fully stackable, no snapping required - Designed for standard 16mm marbles (instead of 8mm steal bearings) While Big Hexfinity's interlock isn't compatible with normal Hexfinity, the measurements still line up. If you'd like me to develop adapters, let me know!

Why Hexagons?

Because hexagons are the bestagons .

- Six edges = more roll paths per piece - Efficient use of space for circular objects like marbles - Beautiful , natural symmetry—just like honeycombs Hexes let you design more intricate, interesting, and elegant roll mazes than squares ever could.

Assembly

To assemble starter kid model, you'll need:

- 3x of the 3-path pieces - And just 1 of each other piece type: - Source - Sink - 1-Hex Plate - 2-Hex Plate - 3-Hex Plate - 3-Hex Base Assemble the foundation as shown:

Main Model Assembly Instructions 1/2

Next, place the roll pieces on top as shown below:

Main Model Assembly Instructions 2/2

And start rolling! There are several other models you can build with the base kit, but if you really want to up the possibilities, print a few more pieces!
