Palm router corner spline jig Rigid/Makita/Dewalt

I designed this jig for my Rigid 18V cordless compact router. It is for corner spline joinery and designed to work with a 91mm router plate that came with this Rigid router. If needed I can look into designing a universal plate for this jig.

I recommend printing in petg or abs with .2mm layer height strength settings. I also prefer gyroid infill for woodworking jigs. With these settings and filament it is less likely to explode if accidentally hit with a spinning router bit.

To assemble, put the dowels into the corresponding holes. The small dowels are for alignment purposes so they are not the full depth. You may need to trim the ends off the small dowels if they aren't square. Use super glue or CA glue on the surfaces that will meet and clamp together. Allow glue to cure.

To use, clamp firmly to your workpiece (which should also be immobilized) ensuring proper alignment for your desired cut. Adjust depth of your router bit as desired. Place router in jig before wood contact. Turn router on. Slowly push router through the jig. Turn router off before removing from jig. If needed adjust depth and repeat.
