Low Profile Wall Mount - VHB Adhesive Mounting Tab

Description

- This is a VHB adhesive mounting tab designed for the “ Low Profile Wall Mount ” by VCDesign. - The surface area is 70mm x 11mm. - This is designed for flat lightweight decorative objects such as signs. Printing and Installation

- Printing: - This is designed to print without supports. Print as per the profile on it's side. This is to ensure that the part can withstand shear and tensile forces from the object on display since there is no screw to provide support. - Preparation: - Once printed, test fit it with the corresponding wall mount. You may need to work it in by slotting it into the wall mount and rotating a few times. Light sanding/trimming may be required if your printer struggles with overhangs. - Note: 3M Tape Primer 94 is highly recommended, VHB tape does not adhere well to low surface energy plastics such as PLA or PETG. With primer however, VHB tape forms a permanent bond. A small can will last you for many thousands of uses. Primer will need to be applied to the area where VHB tape is to be adhered. - Safety Notice : 3M Tape Primer 94 contains hexanes as a solvent (neurotoxic and hepatotoxic), use in a well ventilated area, use gloves. - Installation: - Place your VHB tape onto the mounting tab(s) - leave the second peel-away liner on the tape. - Slot the mounting tab into the wall mount bracket, and orient it vertically/horizontally as required for your object. - Note: ensure your wall mount brackets are parallel - if they are at significantly skewed angles, you may be unable to remove your object once mounted. - Dry test the mounting locations. When you are ready to commit, remove the peel away liner(s) and press your object onto the tape. This ensures a perfect match between the spacing of the wall mount brackets. - Removal: - While this is designed as a permanent mount, in the event you must recover your original object and remove the mounting tabs you can use floss or a monofilament to saw through through the VHB tape. - You will need to then manually scrape the VHB tape residue off with an appropriate solvent that can loosen the VHB adhesive without damaging your object. Test in an inconspicuous location. This is left up to the user.
